ToyBiz X-Force Wave 3 Rictor (1994)
Rictor brought an earth-shaking power set and a little extra attitude to the X-Force lineup. Born Julio Richter, he is a mutant capable of generating powerful seismic vibrations, allowing him to create earthquakes and destabilize the ground around his enemies. After first appearing in X-Factor, Rictor became associated with Cable’s team and joined the original X-Force roster, giving him a place among the younger generation of mutant heroes. ToyBiz released its Rictor figure in 1994 as part of X-Force Series 3, complete with a blaster and a “Power Vibes” action feature. A mechanism in his back activated the figure’s vibration effect, giving kids a playful way to bring his seismic abilities to life. With his bright costume and distinctive gimmick, Rictor helped make this wave feel like more than another assortment of familiar heroes in new outfits. For vintage collectors, he represents the era when ToyBiz could turn even a less-famous comic character into an action figure with its own personality and play value.
