Kenner Aliens Space Marine Power Loader (1992)
Few moments in Aliens are as unforgettable as Ripley climbing into the industrial Power Loader and confronting the Alien Queen with the defiant declaration, “Get away from her, you bitch!” Kenner turned that iconic scene into a substantial 1992 toy with its Space Marine Power Loader, a mechanical suit designed to take on the nastiest creatures in the Aliens universe. The orange-and-yellow machine featured oversized grabbing claws, weaponry mounted on its arms, and a spring-loaded Alienator missile. Unlike the industrial lifting equipment seen in the movie, Kenner’s version leaned into the action-figure aesthetic, with tank-like treaded feet and extra firepower that made it feel ready for an all-out battle. The suit was designed to accommodate Kenner’s five-inch figures, with Ripley being the obvious character to place inside it; however, the figure was sold separately. With its imposing size and distinctive mechanical design, the Power Loader was one of the most exciting pieces of Kenner’s Aliens collection. It captured the spirit of the film’s climactic showdown while delivering the kind of oversized vehicle-and-playset experience that made vintage sci-fi toys so memorable.
